Job Description:
GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide instruction to students in Economics course(s) during the Spring 2024 semester (January 22, 2024 - May 17, 2024). The instructor will teach either Macroeconomics (ECO101) or Microeconomics (ECO102). There may also be the opportunity to teach high school/dual enrollment students in one of these courses. These two introductory courses satisfy a Behavioral/Social Sciences or a Mathematics/Quantitative Reasoning general education requirement.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
  1. Provide instruction in both traditional and non-traditional learning modes.
  2. Select and develop appropriate materials for class use.
  3. Track and assess student progress.
  4. Maintain appropriate attendance and learner records.
  5. Participate in ongoing professional development.
  6. Post syllabus on Moodle Learning Management System.

Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Master's degree in Economics or a closely related field with appropriate areas of concentration.
  2. College-level teaching experience in Economics or equivalent.
  3. Experience using evidence-based strategies to support student success including frequent communication and active learning.
  4. Skill in using instructional technologies effectively to support the learning process.
  5. Experience teaching with a commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) principles to ensure the classroom is designed for a diverse group of learners to succeed.

ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Teaching at the community college level.
  2. Skill using MOODLE or other Learning Management System (LMS) to support student learning.

Additional Information:
COMPENSATION: Anticipated starting salary - Step I DCE Pay Scale. Part-time, non-benefited MCCC Unit Position.
