 ECMO Coordinator-Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU)

The ECMO coordinator position will work with a multidisciplinary team to provide outreach and educational support and assist with our growing program.  The ECMO coordinator position will report directly to the Director for Critical Care and Cardiology and will work collaboratively with our STEMI coordinator to support cardiogenic shock initiatives and our Joint Commission Comprehensive Heart Attack Center designation.

WORK LOCATION: Texas Health Dallas, 8200 Walnut Hill Ln, Dallas, TX 75231

WORK HOURS: Full Time Days for 40 hours per week.  8A-5P, Mon-Fri

CVICU Department Highlights:

The CVICU is a 24-bed Intensive Care unit that specializes in advanced Cardiac and Vascular surgical procedures.   Our ICU units are located in the Hamon Tower, the largest expansion in the hospital's history, which opened in 2009. Our board-certified critical care physicians directly oversee patient care in the ICU throughout the day. Providers are on the unit 24 hours a day. Critical care nurses, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants - all trained in critical care medicine - work collaboratively to provide care in the ICU.  

HERE'S WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

EDUCATION: 

         BSN-Bachelors of Science Nursing-Required AND

         MSN-NP-Master's Degree Graduate of a Nurse Practitioner program required  

EXPERIENCE:

         2 years' experience as a nurse practitioner preferred.

         Cardiac NP experience required. 

         Acute care nursing experience required.

         CVICU experience preferred.

         ECMO Experience preferred.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS:

         RN-Registered Nurse upon hire required AND

         APRN-Advanced Practice Nurse upon hire required AND

         NP-Nurse Practitioner upon hire required.

         BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required.

         ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support 30 Days preferred.

What You Will Do 

     Helping build ECMO program.

     Managing and providing educational support to ECMO Specialist

     Abstracting Data from registry

     Coordinating patients within the program

     coordinator to support cardiogenic shock initiatives.

     Quality/Process improvement processes

     Educational projects
