POSITION PURPOSE AND SUMMARY
To perform optimal quality echocardiographic studies on adult and pediatric patients with known or suspected cardiac anomalies. These studies include but are not limited to the following modalities: M-mode, 2-Dimensional Echocardiography, 3-Dimensional Echocardiography strain, Color Doppler, Transesophageal Echocardiography, limited transthoracic echo (TTE) for TAVR in the Hybrid room, Exercise Stress Echocardiography and Pharmacological Stress Echocardiography. In addition, the Echo Vascular technologist performs and/or noninvasive vascular studies including but not limited to renal, arterial duplex and arterial physiologic testing, carotid, transcranial, pseudoaneurysms, venous, venous reflux and radiofrequency ablation (RFA) guidance.
Provides related clerical responsibilities necessary for physician interpretation and department record keeping. Provides competent and proficient technical skills in the performance of STAT and routine Echocardiology and vascular procedures, implementing procedural standards and protocols. Provides patient care specific to procedural requirements and patient's needs (under the supervision of the lab's Medical Director and the Manager and/or Supervisor of Non-Invasive Cardiology) within established departmental protocols. Maintains an organized, safe and efficient work environment. Participate in the department's QA program/accreditation process. Provides training assistance to new employees as well as participates in maintaining professional growth, self-development objectives and skill enhancement.
Must be versatile in the ability to do cross-training in additional cardiology procedures.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Certificate of Completion or Diploma in Echocardiography and/or Peripheral Vascular Sonography acquired through an accredited (US Department of Education) school for Echocardiography and/or Vascular Sonography.
- Minimum of one (1) year experience in Echocardiography and Cerebral/Peripheral Vascular ultrasonography preferred.
- Current credentials as a Registered Vascular Technologist (RCS, RVS) and Registered Echo tech (RCS, RDCS) through CCI or ARDMS (unless hired at Community Hospital prior to 2014 in which case applicant must be registered in Echo or Vascular)
- Current BLS certification.
- Current ACLS certification
