Performs a variety of cardio/vascular diagnostic testing. The Echo/Vascular Ultrasound Technologist will be expected to function independently and demonstrate sound judgment based upon knowledge and application of professional, departmental and organizational principles and standards. Duties are performed under the supervision of the Supervisor of Non-Invasive Cardiology and/or the Director Imaging/Cardiology Services and department Medical Director.
- High school graduate or equivalent. Certificate of Completion or Diploma in Cardiac Technology acquired through an accredited (US Department of Education) school for Cardiovascular Technology, preferred.
- Minimum of one (1) year experience in Echocardiography or Cerebral/Peripheral Vascular ultrasonography
- Current BLS certification. Current credentials as a Certified/Registered Cardiovascular Technologist, (i.e., R.C.T., C.C.T.) must be acquired within (1) year of hire. Successful completion of either Cardiac or Vascular specialty exam or registry (i.e., RDCS, RCVT or RVT) preferred.
- Ability to identify normal cardiac and vascular anatomy and commonly seen cardiac rhythms. Must possess an understanding of standard accepted interpretation criteria for ECG, Stress Testing, Echocardiography and Vascular Ultrasound.
- Excellent attitude, interpersonal skills and communication abilities necessary to interact with patients, physicians, and other hospital associates.
- Must possess strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills. Must possess basic typing, data entry and computer skills (Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office).
