ECCAT/First Grade, Supervisory Aide, Classroom Aide
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma, High School Equivalency Diploma (GED), or Option Pathway per WV Code 18A-2-5
- Criminal background check per WV Code 18-5-15c
- Hold or qualify for Aide Certification per WV Code 18A-4-8b
- Hold or qualify for Temporary Authorization, Permanent Authorization, or Paraprofessional Certificate for Early Childhood Classroom Assistant Teacher per WV Code 18-5-18(b)
- Demonstrated competency per WV Code 18A-4-8e
- The ability to perform the job duties and responsibilities of the position as contained in the Job Description
Preference will be given in order of the following, based on the service employee policy:
- regularly employed service personnel who hold a classification title within the classification category of the vacancy;
- service personnel who have held a classification title within the classification category of the vacancy whose employment has been discontinued due to a reduction-in-force;
regularly employed service personnel who do not hold a classification title within classification category of the vacancy;
service personnel who have not held a classification title within the classification category of the vacancy and whose employment has been discontinued due to a reduction-in-force;
substitute service personnel who hold a classification title within the classification category of the vacancy;
substitute service personnel who do not hold a classification title within the classification category of the vacancy; and
new service personnel.
ASSIGNMENT:
The Aide assists the teacher(s) in a variety of ways to implement the instructional program, specifically related to literacy and numeracy including working directly with children in small groups or on a one-on-one basis; to establish effective rapport with students assigned to the classroom; to motivate students to develop attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a quality educational foundation, in accordance with each pupil's ability.
SALARY:

TERM OF EMPLOYMENT:
Effective term of employment shall be February 16, 2024, term of employment shall be 74 days for the remainder of the 2023-2024 school year. Term of employment shall be 200 days each year thereafter.
shift being: 7:40 AM - 3:40 PM (Monday - Friday)
