Early Childhood Teacher
An Early Childhood Teacher must have a great love and patience for young children. Qualifications needed to teach them effectively include knowledge of best practices and preschool educational methods as well as the ability to engage them and earn their trust and attention. The goal is to contribute to the healthy mental and emotional development of the child so they can thrive in their next level of education.
Early Childhood Teacher Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and follow a daily routine that incorporates good Early Childhood practices.
Provide appropriate supervision for all children at all times.
Understand and incorporate positive behavior techniques and restorative practices while developing and maintaining classroom activities
Provide tools and resources for children to use and explore during learning and play activities
Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the interests and learning styles of children
Develop and maintain positive relationships with children and parents
Manage classroom activities including lessons, play, breaks and meals
Implement Early Childhood curriculum and create novel project plans
Employ a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, guided play, movement, etc.) to teach children
Observe each child to help them improve their social-emotional growth while provide a stimulating and cognitively engaging classroom environment.
Guide children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities through enriching learning experiences
Track children’s progress, monitor their development and report to parents on a regular basis
Collaborate with other educators
Plan and submit weekly lesson plans in accordance with curriculum objectives and developmentally appropriate practice.
Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards (proper and consistent sanitation, regular handwashing of staff and students, etc.)
Skills
Proven experience as an Early Childhood Teacher
Excellent understanding of the principles of child development and preschool educational methods
Patience and excellent observational, communication and diagnostic skills.
Excellent planning and organizational skills.
A lifelong learner who can be a good role model for children.
Ability to instruct young children in rules of conduct and learning new tasks
Ability to effectively communicate with children and parents
Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classroom
Qualifications
Ideal candidates should possess a B.S. or B.A. in Education and NYS Teacher Certification
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $67,633.00 - $101,599.00 per year
