Job description

We are seeking a motivated and passionate Early Childhood Services Intern to join our Early Childhood Services department at People’s Community Clinic. This internship offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the development and implementation of creative and educational activities for children in our Early Childhood program. The intern will work closely with our experienced staff to enhance the quality of care and learning experiences for the children we serve.

 

Assist and contribute to the successful implementation and management of the Early Childhood Programs at People’s Community Clinic.

 

Duration and Compensation: This internship is expected to last one semester, and hours vary based on the hours needed for school credit.

 

Stipend: $1.300 - $3,600


Under the supervision of the Early Childhood Services Director, this individual’s primary responsibilities include:


• Assist with the recruitment of participants within our patient population for our Early Childhood Programs, collaborating with our outreach team to engage families.
• Collaborate with the Early Childhood Services staff to plan, prepare, and execute developmentally appropriate craft activities that promote creativity, motor skills, and cognitive development.
• Assist in setting up community rooms for various Early Childhood Programs and partner agency groups, ensuring a welcoming and organized environment.
• Support the Early Childhood Program Coordinator in maintaining supply inventory for all Early Childhood Programs, including items such as books, art supplies, and school materials.
• Make informative calls to patients, providing them with essential information about upcoming classes and activities.
• Contribute to the overall planning and coordination of special events or projects related to the Early Childhood program.
• Collaborate with the Early Childhood Services Director to assist in necessary evaluation work and reports, which may include data entry and analysis.


High school diploma or equivalent.

 

Previous experience in community engagement, program support, or customer service roles is advantageous. 

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to interact effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and varying educational levels.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently.

 

Preferred Qualifications: 
• Bilingual: Proficiency in both English and Spanish is preferred but not mandatory.
• Pursuing degrees in social work, sociology, early education, or child development.
