The Cloud Platform Engineering team is looking for a Cloud Architect to help us build great gaming experiences for our fans all over the world. You will bring expert knowledge in putting a solid Cloud foundation in place. You will work with other game development areas, studio, and other IT functions to provide the best solution. The main goal will be to design and implement cloud infrastructure that will be the backbone of our game development.
You will be reporting to Sr. Manager of Cloud Architecture & work with diverse groups within the Infrastructure and IT umbrella. This job is hybrid and open to remote candidates as well.
Responsibilities

- This role would translate reference architecture and patterns into platform engineering solutions
- Cloud Architecture will work with Cloud/DevOps developers, Platform Delivery lead and Cloud/DevOps architects to oversee platform design, standard & patterns implementation, and product releases
- You will have experience architecting the solutions based on automation/patterns and developing infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code and SRE principles
- Work with Enterprise Architecture, IT leaders, business, and IT support teams to develop technical strategies and roadmaps that are aligned with the segment's strategic direction to ensure that business capabilities are enabled
- Work with enterprise architects, product managers and Cloud/DevOps engineers to design and implement cloud platform automation solutions
- Partner with the Platform Delivery Lead on the prioritization of the product backlog, refining product roadmap, KPIs & releases
- Lead the identification and analysis of important industry and technology trends to assess potential effect on their business segments
- Develop technology enablers for business segments and technology domains
- Collaborate with Cloud/DevOps engineers to solve technical and design problems
- Conduct and oversee design & code reviews
- Define platform software engineering standards and ensure compliance
- Monitor platform software quality and work with Cloud/DevOps engineers to improve it
- Work with partners and engineering teams to on-board and self-service promote platform consumers
- Design automation frameworks to support the platform products
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or a related engineering field, or commensurate work experience.
- 8+ years of experience, including experience in cloud solution architecture. (AWS, Azure or GCP)
- 5+ years of cloud-native software engineering experience in Public and Private Cloud Infrastructure.
- Proficient in all aspects of Server computing Infrastructure and modern virtualization technologies.
- Practitioner experience with containerization (docker & kubernetes), cloud technologies (Jenkins, Artifactory) and practices (CI/CD patterns, automated provisioning & release, GitOps, IaC)
- Technical leadership (DevOps/SRE mindset) experience with an agile team delivering value incrementally
- Solid cloud and infrastructure experience with a working understanding of cloud infrastructure components at IaaS, PaaS & CaaS abstraction layers.
- Experience with the full spectrum of software engineering value stream (e.g. build, integration, testing, and releasing / deployment)
- Experience with software security and defensive coding techniques and left shift security models (DevSecOps)
- Experience with automation languages (e.g. Terraform, Golang/Rust, Python) and configuration management tools (e.g., ansible, chef, puppet)
- Brainstorm engineering solutions through important examination of problem and collaboration with team members and customers (developers, architects, engineers)
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The base salary ranges listed below are for the defined geographic market pay zones in these locations. Pay offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.
BASE SALARY RANGES
- California (depending on location e.g. Los Angeles vs. Sacramento): $149,150 - $233,500 USD Annually
- New York (depending on location e.g. Manhattan vs. Buffalo): $136,000 - $233,500 USD Annually
- Jersey City, NJ : $171,100 - $233,500 USD Annually
- Colorado (depending on location e.g. Denver vs. Colorado Springs): $136,000 - $190,850 USD Annually
- Washington (depending on location e.g. Seattle vs. Spokane): $136,000 - $218,900 USD Annually
- British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria): $114,050 - $185,250 CAN Annually
Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. In the US, we offer a package of benefits including paid time off (3 weeks per year to start), 80 hours per year of sick time, 16 paid company holidays per year, 10 weeks paid time off to bond with baby, medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, and 401(k) to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity. For British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
