The E911 Section of the Communications and Technology Division is responsible for critical system maintenance and support activities, reporting and analytics, and the implementation of lifecycle, strategic, and operational projects. E911 strives to enhance the overall call-handling process for over 1.3 million 911 and Text to 911 calls and over eight hundred thousand non-emergency calls annually by all Public Safety Answering Points (PSAP) in Broward County. The E911 section is committed to continuous process improvement, providing technology solutions to enhance the call processing environment, and ongoing support for mission-critical systems at the PSAPs. E911 is seeking a Program Project Coordinator to handle a variety of administrative responsibilities (e.g., bill processing, purchasing and payroll liaison, coordination of vendor meetings, Peoplesoft system liaison, etc.), assist with technical/functional activities (e.g. technology research, SharePoint Subject Matter Expert, small project coordination, asset inventory updates, etc.), and assist with system acceptance testing on key projects. We are excited about two key projects under way and our planned transition to Next Generation 911 ( NG911) and we would like you to join our team.
General Description:
Manages and coordinates, with considerable independence, all activities of a particular program/project within a section or agency. Works under general supervision, independently developing work methods and sequences.
Manages small projects which includes technology, administrative, and operational initiatives.
Develop project plans, identify required resources, establish priorities, assist with acceptance testing of project implementations and operational testing of systems.
Perform and assist with all administrative tasks for the E911 section
Assist with coordination of project activities including oversight of resources associated with project activities.
Serve as the liaison with the PSAP operations and E911 staff for training and acceptance testing related to assigned projects.
Provide Vendor Management to ensure that all vendors are meeting their project and contractual commitments.
Provide leadership to develop and implement technology and operational solutions.
Responsible for tracking key project milestones and adjusting project plans and/or resources to meet the needs of customers.
Coordinates and communicates with stakeholders when needed
Develop presentations to provide updates on projects and administrative initiative when needed
Process all E911 monthly invoices ensuring that each invoice is accurate and tracked monthly.
Serve as the training coordinator for the E911 team
Create requisitions for purchasing and recruiting as needed.
Serve as the liaison for the ERP System, liaison to the division's administrative staff, and purchasing for all requests.
Develops policies, procedures, and guidelines related to small projects and E911 systems support.
Assist with budget development and tracking for capital and operating.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Requires a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in business, public administration or closely related field.
Requires two (2) years experience in a staff or administrative capacity managing special projects, programs or business operations appropriate to the area of assignment or closely related experience.
Special Certifications and Licenses:
Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Class E driver's license based on area of assignment.
Preferences:
- Masters Degree or Higher in Computer Science, MIS, CIS, Business, or closely related field
- PMP, CAPM, ENP, and PgMP
- Technology Certificates (e.g. Application programming,
- SQL, Java, ACD, Data Networks, etc)
- Two (2) years or more of business analyst or systems analyst experience
- Two (2) years of experience in procurement processes and procedures (e.g. RFP, Bids, etc.)
- Two (2) years of ERP System Experience
- Three (3) years of Administrative Specialist experience

Reviews position changes and transfers requested by other County agencies prior to implementing change to ensure compliance with adopted personnel cap; incorporates changes to the cap approved by the Board throughout the year.
May perform quality control checks on operating and budget documents to ensure accuracy, creates and modifies PowerPoint presentations for agency communication, creates core budget development support documents.
Monitors and supervises maintenance of project records and documentation.
Acts as administrative liaison among various County operational and administrative functions related to assigned programs and projects.
Conducts special studies in conjunction with a project, analyzes data, and makes recommendations based upon studies.
Creates and maintains performance/production reports (spreadsheets). This includes monthly productivity reports which provide monthly statistics for transactions processed and revenue generated.
Communicates key procedural changes to staff and management.
Performs related work as assigned.
