If so, you are the perfect candidate to join the PepsiCo Demand Accelerator’s Shopper Analytics & Insights team, a dynamic team that brings together the transformational power of Shopper Insights, Strategy and Advanced Analytics to inform and propel PepsiCo’s Sales and Marketing Plans with our marketing teams and key retailer partners in North America.


As Shopper Insights & Strategy Senior Manager – Walmart, Inc., you will lead development of commercial application of DX Shopper Insights to support PepsiCo’s Walmart, Inc. team across the full PepsiCo portfolio. Additionally, you will play a leadership role in the Learning Agenda and Joint Business Planning processes, while keeping a pulse on retail, consumer and shopper trends that impact our business. You will also act as an influential executive leader within the DX Shopper Strategy & Insights and Walmart, Inc. teams.


Qualified candidates must have a track record of strategic thinking and leadership skills, a natural intellectual curiosity and bias for action. To hit the ground running, familiarity with fundamental research methodologies, tools and techniques and an understanding of the proper application and interpretation of those techniques is ideal. Preferred location is Rogers, AR or Plano, TX; however, also open to candidates in Purchase or Chicago.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and execute PepsiCo Walmart Inc. team’s Shopper Insights learning agenda
    • Lead the development and execution of the Walmart, Inc. Shopper Learning Agenda in collaboration with DX and Walmart Inc. Sales, Insights, and Marketing partners
    • Create research briefs, identify research partners, evaluate methodologies, and negotiate contracts on behalf of the Walmart, Inc. team. Manage the Walmart, Inc. shopper research budget, including agile and foundational insights platforms, ensuring optimization of spend across aligned learning agenda priorities.
    • Collaborate with DX Shopper Analytics & Insights, PepsiCo eCommerce Insights, PEP Global Insights, and Sector Consumer Insights teams to establish and leverage strong partnerships that integrate and activate their capabilities, with the Walmart, Inc. team, infusing the voice of the shopper into the business
  • Leverage insights to drive impact
    • Consult with Walmart, Inc. Sales, Insights and customer partners to identify key business issues and opportunities, leveraging existing research and conducting new research to investigate and answer business questions that drive growth and share
    • Leverage a broad range of resources to develop recommendations that translate Shopper Insights into actionable business strategies
    • Commercialize DX insights and solutions to drive impact across Walmart, Inc.
  • Be a strategic thought partner
    • Be the voice of the shopper in Walmart, Inc. throughout the JBP, AOP and other strategic workstreams, including customer meetings, strategic business planning by infusing customer and Shopper Insights into strategy development and storytelling
    • Build trusting partnerships and leverage consultative skill set across internal and external partners
    • Act as a champion of shopper empathy and inspire and instill shopper curiosity throughout the organization, equipping business teams with an intuitive understanding of the shopper through training and immersion experiences
    • Design, create and deliver compelling, clear, and concise presentations for internal and external Walmart, Inc. audiences
    • Maintain expertise on retail industry, shopper, and consumer trends, and use this knowledge to educate Walmart, Inc. team
    • Elevate the impact of the Insights function on the business by challenging the status quo and delivering clear, insights-driven alternatives and recommendations in an inspiring way
  • Demonstrate leadership across the DX and Walmart, Inc. teams
    • Coach Shopper Behavior team on Customer Perception Luminate portal to further enable actionable and accurate surveys
    • Partner with DX Shopper Analytics & Insights leadership team members on team priorities, org health, and attraction and development of talent

Compensation and Benefits:
  • The expected compensation range for this position is between $106,300 - $177,850 based on a full-time schedule.
  • Location, confirmed job-related skills and experience will be considered in setting actual starting salary.
  • Bonus based on performance and eligibility; target payout is 15% of annual salary paid out annually.
  • Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement.

Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree required
  • Work experience: 7-9 years of relevant retail strategy, sales or insights experience, preferably including commercial roles
  • Insights experience, including managing/synthesizing syndicated and primary consumer or shopper research with the ability to interpret learning & extract commercially actionable insights, survey writing, and vendor management.
  • Commercial focus: Transitions from Insight-based recommendations to practical, commercially relevant and executable tactical implementation with ease
  • Exceptional communication (verbally and written): Tells a story, synthesizes multiple primary and third-party sources, simplifies and conveys key messages and presents in a visual and compelling way
  • Relationship excellence: Builds and maintains trusted relationships with cross-functional teams across PepsiCo sectors to enable connectivity and collaboration, as well as external partners
  • Analytical excellence: Strong analytical skills are critical. Effectively able to analyze large data sets, interpret learning & extract commercially actionable insights
  • Collaborative approach: Works collaboratively with individuals across all levels of PepsiCo while cultivating a network to influence and advance business goals
  • Consultative skill set: Ability to assess situations and leverage relationships to identify problems to solve and opportunities to drive impact
  • Results orientation: Consistently takes high degree of personal initiative and leadership in a highly matrixed environment to deliver projects
