Synerfac is seeking a Dry End Superintendent for our client in Kinsale, VA. Our client is one of the most trusted producer, manufacturer and distributor of wood products in North America.
As the Dry End Superintendent, you will be responsible for the safe coordination and oversight of the daily activities in the Planer Mill, Dry Kiln and Shipping and Receiving department.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee Dry End operations and provide leadership for process improvement.
- Maintain the highest standards with respect to safety at all times, leading by example and ensuring the team follows all policies, procedures, practices and OSHA regulations
- Work with Mill Manager, peers and supervisors to develop production schedules and coordinate operations to ensure highest practical output and efficiency
- Identify and assist in the troubleshooting of equipment
Facilitate proactive problem-solving
- Coach, train, and support supervisors to maximize performance while ensuring production meets quality standards and production specifications.
- Ensure the timely implementation of key Corporate and operational initiatives
- Work with Maintenance to coordinate preventive maintenance, expedite repairs, and schedule equipment updates, additions, and/or replacements.
- Oversee shipping and receiving department employees and inventory
- Improve and maintain department performance according to set objectives and established goals for safety, quality, waste reduction, housekeeping, and process reliability
- 3+ of sawmill and/or planer mill and dry kiln experience
- 2+ years of supervisory experience in an industrial environment
- Willing and able to accept and respond to after hour's calls, work weekends/holidays as needed
- Able and willing to perform the essential job requirements such as working at heights, climbing stairs, working in extreme heat or cold, or working in confined/restricted spaces.
