- Conduct needs assessments, develop/create, implement, and evaluate campus-wide alcohol and other drugs education and prevention programs/outreach. Some evening and weekend hours are required to accommodate outreach programs.Assist in the central activities of the ATOD Grant, including but not limited to: administration of surveys, monthly budget and activity reports.Build liaison relationships and collaborate with other campus departments to conduct prevention programs/outreach, such as, but not limited to, the Office of Student Accountability & Restorative Practices, Housing and Residence Life, Fraternity & Sorority Life, Athletics, Student Activities, and Wellness/Health Center.Oversee ATOD Graduate Assistants and Peer Education program: work collaboratively with campus partners to develop and strengthen diversity of programming with the Counseling Center’s Alcohol and Drug education/prevention programming.Strengthen outreach and educational programming by staying abreast of Maryland state laws regarding substance abuse, misuse, abuse, addiction, and recovery.Be aware of local treatment and support resources for students in recovery, those struggling with substance use, or of a loved one with addiction issues.Work Schedule: Standard business hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday, however, must be able to work some after hours and/or weekends.
Qualifications and Skills
Required:
- Master’s degreeOne year of experienceCertified Health Education Specialist (CHES) Certified or eligibleUnderstanding of public health and prevention models
