Description
Confluence is seeking qualified individuals to support collection of spatial data, aerial imagery, and other data products acquired using unmanned aerial systems (UAS) / drone platforms. The position will require regular travel to project sites to collect aerial imagery to assess vegetation condition and reclamation trajectory, and complete field forms to document these observations. Successful candidates will have a valid driver’s license, be comfortable navigating to and working alone at remote locations, possess excellent attention to detail and verbal and written communication skills, be comfortable performing in a fast-paced collaborative work environment, excel in problem solving, be self-motivated, and have experience flying UAS/drones.
Responsibilities
- Review and execute field work based on provided scopes of work (SOW).
- Complete and participate in daily safety planning exercises for field work.
- Travel to and from job sites in a personal vehicle that is reliable, presentable, and capable of traveling off-road.
- Fly UAV missions at designated locations to characterize reclamation/restoration status and compliance conditions at designated client sites across the Front Range.
- Complete electronic field forms to document field observations to support data collection, analysis, and reporting objectives.
- Execute data management procedures and requirements.
- Communicate field findings and scheduling considerations to project team members using effective verbal and electronic communication practices.
- Promptly communicate any deviations from provided SOW to the Project Manager and/or supervisor.
- Maintain accurate timekeeping records and submit timesheets on a weekly basis.
- Prepare documents and figures for activity reporting.
Requirements
- Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) license to commercially operate UAS/drone o Confluence will offer financial support for acquiring this license for otherwise qualified candidates prior to the first day of employment.

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Have a home office with a reliable internet connection, conducive to remote work.
- Have a computer capable of running company software that performs reliably and meets network security requirements.
- Be self-motivated and comfortable working with limited supervision.
- Maintain auditable personal notes on work completed to backup billed project work and approved indirect time.
- Comply with all Confluence and client policies and procedures.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. and spend long hours on your feet outdoors in potentially adverse weather conditions.
- This is a safety-sensitive position which will require the following: A current driver’s license and safe driving record; background check; drug and alcohol screening (pre-employment, random, and post-incident)
Preferred Qualifications
- Oil and gas industry experience.
- Experience with Esri (GIS) products and concepts.
- HAZWOPER certification.
- First Aid/CPR certification.
- Remediation and reclamation project experience.
- Technical writing experience.
- Experience with plant identification.
