Driver/Operator - Solid Waste

General Description:

This position is responsible for collecting Solid Waste from residential and commercial customers and transporting to the landfill.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must possess and maintain a valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) in state of residency.
• Ability to read, write and perform basic math calculations.
• One to two years’ experience operating and driving vehicles such as a knuckleboom loader, a front loader refuse truck, a rear loading refuse truck, a trash/recycling trailer truck, and shuttle truck and trailer or have the ability to learn to operate and drive vehicles/equipment listed.
• Must be physically able to perform manual labor in adverse and inclement weather conditions.
• Must be able to come to work promptly and regularly.
• Must be able to work well with others and take directions from supervisors.
• Must be able to perform work accurately and safely, and complete tasks in a timely manner.
• Must obtain National Incident Management Systems (NIMS) 100 and 700 within three (3) months of employment.
