Position SummaryThe Pharmacy Delivery Driver (PDD), under the supervision of the Pharmacy Business Manager, is responsible for operating a vehicle to deliver medications/products to patients and to other Zufall sites. The PDD is responsible for the safety of the vehicle, doing checks before and after vehicle use and managing regular maintenance of the vehicle. The PDD will assist the Pharmacy counter when deliveries are not scheduled and as needed.
Most importantly, the PDD supports the mission and vision of the Zufall Health Center.Essential Functions, Duties and ResponsibilitiesConsistently adheres to all departmental policies and procedures.Conducts all aspects of job in a professional and ethical manner.Works independently with little or no supervision but uses available resources for problem resolution as indicated by circumstances or need.Completes assignments in a timely and efficient mannerMaintains high level of confidentialityWorks collaboratively with team members to assure the optimal outcomes of care andservice.Utilizes departmental resources prudently and appropriatelyUses communication methods which create and foster a positive image of the department, upholding the values of the Zufall Health CenterCommunicates appropriately both verbally and in writing; uses appropriate mechanisms for identifying and resolving work related issuesKeeps manager or supervisor informed of work related issues at all times.Performs additional duties as determined by supervisorSpecific DutiesInteraction with PatientsGreets patients and visitors in a prompt, pleasant, and helpful manner in person and on the telephone.Plan and determine appropriate delivery routes.Loads vehicle and delivers medications/products in a timely manner and to the correct address and/or site as requested by the patientProvides timely and accurate completion of deliveries while ensuring great patient experience.Establishes and maintains an excellent relationship with patients.Operates vehicle safely at all times and notifies their supervisor of any safety related issues immediatelyProvides valid signatures for proof of items delivered.Delivers interoffice mail to other Zufall sitesCompletes inspection of vehicle and communicates any repairs needed to their supervisorManage the vehicle in regard to maintaining cleanliness and organization at all times.Answers the telephone counter and or responds to inquiries.Explains processes to patients as needed.Communicates with the pharmacy staff regarding patient's medications.Assists with printing out requisitions or other forms as needed.CommunicationMaintains patients' confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA and other federal, state and local regulations as stated in the ZHC policies and procedures manual.Answers inquiries of patients and public in person or via telephone regarding regulations and services; when necessary, refers inquiries to appropriate person or department.Reads, writes, speaks, understands, and communicates in English and Spanish sufficiently to perform the duties of this position.Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesPossesses a NJ Driver's license to be able to operate vehicles.Has knowledge of computer software programs such as Microsoft Word, and electronic medical records.Have excellent customer service skillsPossesses good organizational skills.Have the ability to be flexible to changeHas ability to work independentlyHave great attention to detail.Ability to adapt and learn in rapidly changing environment of healthcare.Be able to understand, carry out, and remember verbal and written instructions.Bilingual English and Spanish required.Education, Training and ExperienceHigh School diploma required; college credit or additional education in medical field or insurance and billing courses preferredPossess a current, unrestricted New Jersey Driver's license issued by the New Jersey Division of Motor Vehicles and pass an annual background driving record check.Have minimum of 1 year experience in customer service field.Experience in a clinical/ambulatory care setting preferred.Employment Type: PART_TIME
