Job Summary:
This position is responsible for completing the training requirements of the Class B commercial driver's license (CDL) program of instruction (POI), obtaining a Class B CDL learners permit, becoming proficient in all CDL POI tasks with the result of obtaining a Class B CDL through the PennDOT DMV. This hourly, non-exempt position will work with direct supervision. Upon meeting all the requirements and standards, the incumbent shall be promoted to DriverTri-Axle 1 position.
Essential Functions:
- Learn and understand the training POI to obtain a Class B learners permit.
- Learn and understand the training POI to obtain a Class B license.
- Meet the performance and technical standards required to qualify for Tri-Axle Driver 1 position.
- Report all equipment malfunctions to instructor staff.
- Perform required administrative duties.
- Exercise proper care and maintenance of company equipment.
- Frequently work more than 40 hours per week and non-traditional hours including night shift, Saturdays and occasionally
- Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.
Knowledge of:
- Local, state and federal traffic laws.
- Mechanical concepts.
Ability to:
- Learn and follow GOH company policies and procedures.
- Learn and complete the training POI resulting in passing the PennDot DMV Class B testing requirements.
Qualifications:
- Must meet all State and Federal requirements for a Class B CDL and hold a current valid driver's license.
- Must meet company minimum standards for CDL drivers.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a current Medical Examiner's Certificate as stated in 49 CFR 391.43(h).
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of driving a motor vehicle.
Required Training:
- Annual Driver Training
- MSHA (if applicable)

- Occasionally (0-33%) - Ability to walk and work on uneven terrain.
- Occasionally (0-33%) - Ability to see and work with a minimum amount of light on night shift operations.
- Occasionally (0-33%) - Ability to shovel and use other tools.
- Occasionally (0-33%) - Ability to push a maximum force of 83 pounds.
- Occasionally (0-33%) - Ability to pull a maximum force of 155 pounds.
