Driver Manager - Days

General Express is seeking a day support Driver/Fleet Manager to join our growing logistics team. You will be required to provide above standard leadership to a team of awesome company drivers. You will be the key link to helping our drivers remain safe, productive and thrive in a teamwork focused environment. Working daily fielding phone calls and thinking creatively to solve one off situations for drivers. This position is a key leadership role that impacts driver, terminal, and customer satisfaction, service, and productivity. This position is Tuesday - Saturday.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manages driver performance by setting expectations, conducting regular reviews, and implementing corrective action processes up to and including termination when needed
• Accountable for the safety and regulatory performance of their drivers and implementation and execution of corrective actions plans for all drivers below goal
• Ensure driver compliance in all FMCSA regulations such as: hours of service, drug testing, licensing, and endorsements
• Tracks and manages drivers' schedules, including planned time off, holiday pay compliance, and vacations
• Monitors utilization and helps support the planning and dispatching of freight as needed
• Enforces understanding and compliance with all Company policies and procedures, including the Code of Conduct
• Contributes to an atmosphere of trust and teamwork that values contributions of all employees
• Use various transportation management systems to ensure timely and accurate data
• Responsible for truck assignment, fuel and ELD compliance

Qualifications:

• 2 plus years recent Management experience or Fleet Manager experience
• TM3 and Motive Experience a plus
• Strong leadership skills
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills and change management
• Must be a self-starter and highly motivated individual
