The main responsibility of a Driver Manager is to act as a key member of the Operations team, working with Load Planners, Customer Service Representatives, Safety, and Recruiting to solve important problems and elevate the way Dynamic Transit operates.
This is a full-time position with daytime hours M-F, requiring work every other Saturday.
Position Responsibilities
- Leverage deep knowledge of operations to ensure the appropriateness of driver load assignments from Load Planners and Customer Service
- Effectively communicate with the Operations team and drivers to ensure customer and company goals are being met.
- Notify Customer Service Representatives and Load Planners of issues and/or changes that might impact customer expectations on a load
- Promote and communicate safety throughout all areas of operations, including the dispatching of loads in accordance with the drivers hours of availability
- Focus on relationship-building with team members and on driver retention by understanding driver preferences, monitoring driver performance, and by keeping drivers informed and motivated
- Communicate expectations to drivers and also meet driver and company expectations
- Resolve driver conflicts, problems and requests with respect to matters such as home time, pay, equipment, and load assignments
Position Requirements
- 1+ years previous experience in operations, dispatching, managing a team, and/or working on a team is required.
- Industry experience also not required, but is a plus
- Drive, be resourceful, competitive, and analytical
- Ability to make smart decisions and problem solve quickly
- Attention to detail with strong organizational and analytical skills
