- Position: Driver/ Delivery Technician
- Location: Houston, TX
- Schedule: Full Time
- Hours: 8:30am-5:00pm 8:30am-5:00pm, weekly rotation of after hours on call service
THE POSITION: Apple Homecare Medical is currently in need of the best driver technician to deliver medical supplies to our patients. We strive to deliver the best service and equipment to our patients! Specializing in enteral and respiratory equipment/supplies for both pediatric and adult patients.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Delivering medical equipment and supplies to our customers in a safe, courteous, and timely manner.
- Instructing patients on the safe and appropriate use of medical equipment.
- Following patient orientation checklists during delivery and training of new patients.
- Conducting daily deliveries.
- Managing the office equipment and supplies inventory including physical inventory counts.
- Adhering to assigned routes and time schedules.
- Abiding by all transportation laws and maintaining a safe driving record.
- Inspecting delivery vehicles, and ensuring the safety of the loading and unloading process.
- Establishing and maintaining outstanding relations with customers and internal team members.
- Maintaining cleanliness and organization of delivery vehicle and warehouse, adhering to all FDA protocols.
- Working rotating on-call during the evening and weekend hours to address any patient medical emergencies. (additional pay for the on-call rotations)
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous Durable Medical Equipment (DME) experience preferred.
- Must be able to complete requirements of DOT physical.
- Must be able to pass a background check including a clean driving record.
- Ability to safely lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs. with or without accommodations.
- Must feel comfortable talking to patients.
