We are looking for a few good people to join our team installing and maintaining Drip Irrigation systems in gardens across Chicago.
We are a very small company, and we care about our work and the people that work for us.
This is a great opportunity for someone looking for a flexible seasonal job, working with your hands in the great urban outdoors. We are looking for someone who is reliable and eager to work 3 to 5+ days per week, and yet we can offer some flexibility; we have found this job to be great for people with a second source of income or other time commitment, such as artists, musicians, writers, service professionals, part-time students, etc.
We install and maintain above-ground, efficient Drip Irrigation systems in high-end residential landscapes in Chicago. Prior experience working with watering systems is a plus, but not required.
Required qualifications:
- Valid driver's license and reliable access to vehicle (jobs are located across Chicago, concentrated on the north side of the city);
- Ability to quickly learn technical aspects of our irrigation systems to install, maintain and troubleshoot issues;
- Experience with landscaping, irrigation or manual labor;
- Attention to detail to make sure all jobs meet our standard of excellence;
- Ability to handle physical demands of the job (to lift heavy materials, work in inclement weather, fit in small spaces);
- Good communication skills, including professional manner when interacting with customers on job sites;
- Good organizational skills (to track hours, inventory used, work completed, etc.);
- Ability to work as part of a team as well as work independently and think creatively to solve problems;
- Interest in learning about drip and micro-irrigation;
- Positive attitude;
- Reliable access to smartphone, willingness to use our dispatching and inventory software.
