The scope of the IT GEMS contract includes a full range of information technology (IT) services which include necessary hardware, software, and ancillary, components to support enterprise-level programs and environments. Support service areas include program management support, policy, procedures, and operations support, IT core services support, security compliance, customer and client services support, transformational IT support, and application migration support.
HOW A DR/COOP AND CONTINGENCY PLANNING LEAD WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
- Supports Transition-In, Subtask C.5.2.9 Disaster Recovery (DR), Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP), and Contingency Planning Support.
- Leads the development, analysis, and updates to DR/COOP and Contingency program and plans for the restoration of operations in the event of an incident or disaster, in alignment with DMDC policies and procedures.
- Submits the initial DR/COOP plan within 60 days of contract award and updates the plan annually or as changes occur.
- Conducts a gap analysis across the program to identify gaps and takes corrective action, including ensuring compliance with RMF requirements.
- Works with the IT Core Services team to manage accounts and ensure only authorized access to systems and networks.
- Works with the Configuration Manager to audit CIs and changes to the configuration in the CMDB.
- Supports annual DR/COOP exercises (table-tops and actual exercises) and coordinates with the Systems Engineer, Telecommunications Engineer, and other SMEs to eliminate single points of failure in system and infrastructure designs.
- Coordinates with the Cybersecurity Lead to update the RMF repository with DR/COOP documentation.
- Develops and maintains an annual DR/COOP schedule in SharePoint (IPMS-SharePoint).
- Ensures the readiness of DMDC mission-critical systems to support contingency operations and coordinates with our Logistics team on the storage of Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) in our approved/accredited and certified storage location and delivery of GFE.
- Supports users with on-site support within 24 hours of notification to support DR/COOP operations and contingencies.
- Notifies the Government when stored hardware is no longer compatible with production system baselines.
- Drives continuous improvement with our CSI2 program, capturing lessons learned from AARs and reporting results and recommendations for improvement to the Government.
- Tracks and updates delivery status in AITS, as this system ties to the IPMS.
- Produces the DR/COOP Plan Testing and Lessons Learned (Del 45) within 60 days of contract award, updates after application migrations and exercises based on lessons learned within 10 days of the exercises.
