Draftsman - Construction

G & M Works LLC, a full landscape and construction company, has a current opening for an experienced professional to serve as DRAFTSMAN with project manager skills

G & M is located in Island Park, NY and provides construction services to high end developers in the five boroughs of NYC & NJ Specializing in site work, landscape, hardscape, and roof top amenity spaces. Clients will consist of developers such as, Toll Brothers, UAG, Cauldwell Wingate, Suffolk, JRM, etc., and expect a very high-quality product.

We are seeking an experienced DRAFTSMAN to read arch plans, scope and details and provide projects  Auto Cad Shop Drawings

The ideal applicant will be experienced with construction build knowledge, organized, with the ability to plan ahead and multitask in order to meet deadlines and design intent

Duties:

·         Create project shop drawings from architectural drawings for submittal packages

·         Review project plans, specifications, and other documents to determine the material, labor, and equipment needed to complete projects

·         Communicate with project managers and site supers to develop projects and schedules

·         Conduct site visits to gather information on project scope and field measurements

·         Research and review data to determine costs and designs

·         Identify cost and time-saving opportunities

·         Monitor project changes throughout the construction process and make adjustments and revisions to shop drawings as needed

Skills:

·         Strong knowledge of construction and estimating

·         Excellent mathematical skills and attention to detail

·         Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

·         Ability to read and interpret project plans, specifications, and other technical documents

·         Effective communication skills, both written and verbal

·         Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines

·         Knowledge of Autocad programs required

·         Knowledge of project management principles is a plus
