Overview
The Drafting Designer is the an integral part of the LiveSpace team. The Drafting Designer is responsible for the creation of documents related to AVL projects. While a large part of this role is document creation — it also requires a high level of coordination with the design team AND with the field team as we transition into the installation phase of the project.
Reports To: Director of Integration
Core Accountabilities
- Attend external meetings to perform needs analyses as requested. Capture the client’s vision so LiveSpace can design the appropriate AVL solution
- Create A/V/L documentation with a high level of integrity including:
- Construction documentation
- One line diagrams/system schematics
- Rack layout documents
- Lighting layout documents
- Audio system documents
- Video system documents
- Electrical requirements documents
- Documents related to other trades as needed
- Basic system sketches
- Create renderings and visual aids including :
- General visual aids
- Sight line surveys
- Proposal/sales support
- Assist in the management of internal and external communication
- Maintain a safe work environment according to the LiveSpace safety policy
- Broaden job knowledge by participating in professional development
- Work with the sales team to build and grow business relationships vital to the success of LiveSpace
- Travel when necessary
- Weeknight, weekend, and holiday travel is common in this role and is often required
- Stay current with licenses, certifications, trainings, and any other knowledge-based opportunities. Stay up to date with the latest technological advancements in the AVL industry
- Assist LiveSpace with fulfilling contracts and work orders
- Follow and enforce company policies, including the employee handbook
- Maintain a positive attitude during all of the above responsibilities

Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
- 5 years experience or equivalent
- In-depth knowledge of the AVL industry
- Ability to work within a small company atmosphere
- Ability to work within multiple markets including:
- Church
- Bar/Restaurant/Club
- Education
- Businesses
- Entertainment Venues
- Technical skills
- Vectorworks
- Photoshop/Illustrator/Sketchup
- CTS Certification Preferred
- Collaborative communication skills
