Job description

Summary

The Drafter provides drafting support using AutoCAD, MS Excel, MS Word, and other programs. The Drafter maintains a high professional standard, working directly with team members, company leadership, and key clients.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  Create accurate, detailed technical plans using CAD programs.

  Work closely with project manager and lead Drafter develop details and construction plans.

  Read prints and produce shop drawings for module structures.

  Check that final technical drafts include all relevant information in an easy-to-read format and verify that calculations, measurements, and units are accurate based on initial design information from leadership.

  Participate in design process by supporting company leadership.

  Serve as a technical resource for employees who use drafting software less frequently.

  This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

  Other duties may be assigned.

 

 

Minimum Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Minimum one (1) year of relevant draft work experience or CAD training
  • Advanced skillset with Microsoft Word and Excel required.
  • Advanced ability and knowledge of AutoCAD, AutoCAD C3D, Solid Works.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, specifically written and oral communication. 
  • Must be able to work in inclement weather in an arctic environment.
  • A valid driver's license and acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years to be eligible under company vehicle insurance policy preferred.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision, Peripheral vision, Depth perception and Ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, bend over, or crawl and talk or hear.  Steel toed boots required on the job.

Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, write routine reports and correspondence, speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form, deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
