GMCO is growing and currently looking to fill the position of DOT Compliance and Safety Manager. This position is responsible for leading the company and our employees in maintaining a safe work environment and ensuring compliance with regulations at the state and federal level. This position will also ensure compliance with DOT, FMCSA, Motor Vehicle Reports, and Drug and Alcohol testing. Maintain, update and implement Driver Qualification records per current DOT regulations including medical cards and CDL License as well as assisting our maintenance department with any DOT equipment audits. This is not a remote position and travel is required. GMCO offers medical, dental, and vision insurance as well as paid time off and a retirement plan.


Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Manage and enforce corporate safety policies and procedures. Establish and maintain compliance with all safety laws and regulations issued by federal, state agencies.
  • Oversee investigations of incidents, accidents, and work-related injuries. Including accident investigation, accident reports and follow-up. Work closely with insurance and adjusters.
  • Monitor Drug and Alcohol Program (new hire, random, and post-accident)
  • Manage Driver Qualification files.
  • Monitor Driver Logs, monitor errors and conduct corrective action.
  • Plan, schedule, and conduct monthly safety meetings.
  • Evaluate safety and training data. Make recommendations or implement new actions to mitigate injuries and accidents.
  • Manage all CMV equipment registration.
  • Manage and collect all equipment maintenance records and annual inspections.
  • Report and manage OSHA 300 forms.
  • Manage MVRS and Clearinghouse annuals.
  • Roadside inspection management
  • IRP Registrations
  • Fuel Card Management and distribution
  • IFTA Quarterly tracking and reporting



Requirements:
  • Previous Dot Compliance experience
  • Background in Safety
  • Knowledge of federal and state rules and regulations
  • Experience and ability to develop and implement safety and training programs.
  • Fiscal accountability
  • Innovative approach to situations and improving processes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong Written and Verbal Skills
  • Pre-employment drug screening
