Job Summary
The Logistics Manager oversees shipment routing/pick-up/delivery needs, validates pricing competitiveness, ensures on-time transit deliveries, and reconciles freight invoices according to operational needs. Responsibilities include collaboration with Carriers in maintaining monthly service performances, monitor and reconcile spend reports with 3rd Party billing company, maintaining transportation pricing/systems related tasks, and providing training to internal functional areas to ensure compliance with Carrier utilization.
POSITION OVERVIEW
Cross-functional Liaison: Serve as point contact for external Customers/Suppliers and BBB supply chain operations (Planning, Procurement, Manufacturing, Distribution, IT, Finance, Customer Service etc.) on domestic transportation related matters including billing discrepancies, quotation, pick-up, delivery, and transit time inquiries.
Domestic Transportation Coordination: Coordinate inbound/outbound shipments among BBB entities and/or Distribution Centers, Customers, Suppliers and Carriers to ensure timely shipment pick-up and deliveries.
Managing Service Providers: Experience in managing and collaborating with external Carriers
Communicate and train supply chain operations (Planning, Procurement, Manufacturing, Distribution, IT, Finance, Customer Service etc.) of Carrier utilization such as Routing Guides of assigned Carriers by region.
Develop, monitor and maintain Key Performance Indicators (KPI) such as spend, volume, lanes, on-time delivery and equipment allocation. Identify areas of risks and opportunities with Carriers.
Freight Quotation: Provide freight estimations based on shipping profile such as weight limitations, origin, destination and mode.
Tracking and Tracing: Addressing shipment status and resolving shipment issues including delayed shipments and damaged/missing products.
Develop, maintain and deliver transportation reports weekly/monthly i.e., Spend, transit time, weight, CPM, space utilization.
Evaluate and process transportation related financial claims made by Customers.
Carrier Pricing Maintenance: Maintain and audit pricing agreements with 3rd Party Billing Party(s) to ensure alignment of pricing records.
Freight Audit: Perform freight invoice auditing of freight base, fuel and accessorial charges to validate contracted rates vs invoices billed.
3rd Party Invoice Payment: Provide monthly reports on Carrier listing, aging amounts, paid invoices and upcoming payment schedules.
Prioritize Carrier Payments and Invoice Exceptions: Collaborate between Carrier and 3rd Party Invoice Payment company to resolve invoice discrepancies and settlements including payment prioritization.
Maintain logistics policies and procedures.
Manage and maintain Transportation Management System (TMS) related tools to enable quoting while maintaining pricing, fuel, accessorial and transit time.
Analyze market, industry, and regulatory trends to complement transportation related reporting updates.
