Doggy Day School Trainers are responsible for the supervision, control and management of Canines ensuring the safety of the play/training group, and staff. Doggy Day School Trainers are also responsible for ensuring the maintenance and cleaning protocol is adhered to at ALL times. This position requires a high level of responsibility as we are caring for the lives of animals and monitoring and maintaining a safe environment. This job requires being self-sufficient and the ability to multi-task. You must have a passion for working with animals and a flexible schedule (which includes weekends and holidays) ; the position is physically demanding, but the dogs are so rewarding. The essential responsibilities and requirements are as follows:
Primary Duties :
- Interact with staff members and dogs in play and/or training groups using appropriate toys and tools to ensure safe levels of play/training and minimizing stress levels of all dogs in the play/training group.
- Physically fit to stand on feet for 6-12 hour shift
- Maintain visual observation of canines as needed. Never leave dogs unattended.
- Control level of play/training by following dog management and control procedures and instructions provided by management.
- Use proper dog handling techniques as instructed by management.
- Must have a passion for working with animals
- Ability to work in fast paced environment.
- Cleaning Duties
- Performs daily cleaning and sanitizing of shelter areas, kennels, cages, yard and public areas following cleaning & disease control protocol, including spot cleaning throughout the day (e.g., sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, washing, etc.)
- Minimum Experience, Skills, Certification or Academic Background Required
- High School graduate or GED preferred
- Prior Experience working in the canine community
- Previous work experience demonstrating dependability

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
