Leaps N Bounds K9 is looking for motivated people to join our team.
As a Leaps N Bounds K9 Dog Trainer Apprentice, you will start out learning the basics of our dog training processes and be given personalized coaching to ensure you develop the knowledge and skills to work with dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments.
After completing your initial training period of 6-12 months you will have the flexibility of working with client dogs in and around your own home. Training and caring for dogs is more than just a full-time job and requires effort 7 days a week and at odd hours, but in a way that feels more organic than the typical 9-5. Living and working with dogs is not just a job but a lifestyle and an extremely rewarding one for those who are called to it. Earning potential and flexibility greatly increase once a Trainer has reached the point where they are able to take dogs home to train.
At Leaps N Bounds K9, we are constantly sharpening our skills, learning from our experiences, and studying what other industry-leading experts are doing. As one of our Dog Trainers, you will be provided with all the coaching and resources you need to continue to develop your knowledge and skills as a professional in the industry.
$20 - $25 hourly
Responsibilities:- Training and caring for dogs from all breeds and sizes
- Transporting dogs in your vehicle
- Working with dogs who require behavioral modification, including aggressive, anxious, and fearful dogs
- Maintain training records to include regular report cards and videos
- Work outside regardless of natural elements: heat, cold, rain, snow, etc.
- Reside in the Seattle Area
- Have reliable transportation for yourself and a minimum of 1 dog
- Must be able to board and train at least 2 dogs at your residence for 3-4 weeks at a time
- Must be comfortable working with dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments
- Physically fit, able to lift dogs 50+lbs
