As a Dog Trainer at Zoom Room Nashville-East Dog Training, you will have the incredible opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of both dogs and their owners. Your role will involve teaching a variety of group classes and private sessions, using positive reinforcement training methods and our proprietary curriculum.Classes you would teach include: Obedience, Agility, Canine Good Citizen, Therapy Dog, Scent, and many more. You would also oversee social activities and events such as playgroups, meet-ups, dog birthday/adoption day parties, game nights, and events that raise awareness and funds for local rescues and shelters.
Requirements:
- Prior experience training your own dog(s) using force-free positive reinforcement methods is required. Experience in professional dog training, behavior modification, or canine-related fields is preferred.
- Passion for working with animals and a commitment to their well-being.
- Experience in retail/sales is preferred.
- Must be team oriented with a dedication to customer service and contributing to a positive work environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with both dogs and owners of all ages and backgrounds, individually and in small group settings.
- Ability to adapt to different learning styles and customize training techniques accordingly.
- Flexibility to work some evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Must be able to move and adjust heavy agility equipment (up to 50 lbs) and be flexible enough to bend down easily to work with small dogs and puppies.
- Knowledge of social media platforms (i.e. Facebook, Instagram, YouTube) is preferred.
- Online and in-person training is required, regardless of prior experience. You must have computer access to complete approx. 15 hours of online training.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
