Dog Sitter Admin Volunteer Description:
Position Title: Dog Sitter Coordinator
Department: Programs
Reports To: Volunteer Coordinator
Hours per week: 10 hours salaried
Position Salary: Approx $20 an hour plus mileage for off-location meetings
As a Dog Sitter Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in managing and coordinating the dog sitting services and puppy helper services for service dogs in training. This position involves recruiting, interviewing, and training Dog Sitter volunteers, managing day-to-day Dog Sitter requests, updating the Dog Sitter calendar, and facilitating communication between Dog Sitters and foster home trainers. This role is ideal for individuals with excellent communication and organizational skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in email and Google Calendar management.
Key Responsibilities:
Volunteer Management: Recruit, conduct in-home interviews, provide ongoing training to Dog Sitter volunteers
Calendar Management: Update and maintain the Dog Sitter calendar with accurate information regarding dog-sitting requests and availability.
Request Processing: Enter Dog Sitter requests onto the calendar promptly and efficiently.
Communication: Respond to emails related to dog sitting requests and communicate with Dog Sitters to confirm availability.
Connection Emails: Send connection emails to Dog Sitters once requests are filled, ensuring a smooth arrangement between sitters and foster home trainers.
Follow Up: Follow up with Dog Sitters to make sure feedback forms are completed.
Urgent Requests: Fill urgent last-minute Dog Sitter requests
Manage puppy helper program. Arrange for puppy helpers to drop in when a foster home trainer needs help during the day.
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Excellent communication skills and ability to work with diverse groups of people.
Proficiency in email communication and Google Calendar.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Attention to detail to ensure accurate record-keeping.
Reliable and responsive communication with Dog Sitters and foster home trainers.
Time Commitment:
Approximately 10 hours per week.
Flexible hours to accommodate the needs of the dog sitting schedule.
Weekly in-person meetings.
Notes:
The Dog Sitter Coordinator will be trained by the Volunteer Coordinator and meet in person on a weekly basis to ensure Dog Sitter requests are covered. Hybrid schedule.
