For over two years, their Founder, Lee Asher, traveled across 49 states to promote dog adoption and spotlight various shelters and rescues. After his Pitbull Stella passed away, Lee was determined to fulfill his lifelong dream of creating a sanctuary, where animals could feel treasured, protected, and free. In late 2020, Lee discovered a large parcel of property which was the perfect setting to turn his vision into a reality! We are here to help people have better days and get animals adopted. The Asher House is on a mission to make the world a better place, one rescue animal at a time!

Key Responsibilities:
Bathing and Drying:
- Thoroughly bathe dogs using appropriate shampoos and conditioners.
- Ensure proper drying techniques, taking into consideration the breed and coat type.
- Brush and comb dogs to remove loose hair, mats, and tangles.
- Address specific grooming needs based on the dog's coat type.
- Trim and style dog fur according to breed standards
- Use clippers, shears, and other grooming tools with precision and safety.
- Trim dogs' nails to a safe and comfortable length.
- Be cautious to avoid cutting into the quick.
- Clean dogs' ears to prevent infections and ensure overall ear health.
- Brush dogs' teeth or recommend dental care products to maintain oral hygiene.
- Observe dogs for any signs of skin issues, lumps, bumps, or abnormalities.
- Communicate effectively with the companion animal caretaking team to address any concerns.
- Maintain a clean and organized grooming area.
- Sanitize grooming tools and equipment regularly.
- Keep accurate records of each dog's grooming history, including services provided and any health issues observed.
- 3-5 years experience as a Dog Groomer is preferred.
- Knowledge of different dog breeds and their specific grooming requirements.
- Comfortable handling dogs of all sizes and temperaments.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to lift and handle dogs of varying sizes.
- Stamina to stand for extended periods during grooming sessions.
- High school diploma or equivalent is typically required.
- Completion of a formal grooming training program is an advantage.
- Work in a sanctuary setting which may include extended periods of time.
