Dog Daycare Yard Attendant/ Camp Counselor

Camp Bow Wow located in Elmhurst, IL is looking to hire for our Camp Counselor/ Dog Handler position. We are always keeping an eye out for applicants who are friendly, enthusiastic, and who genuinely enjoy serving our Campers. The primary duty for this position is to be engaged with and monitor dogs within our active play yards.

We have full time and part time positions available. We are primarily looking for the evening shift at this time.

The full time shift schedule consists of 4 weekdays plus one weekend shift each week. Hours 32-40Hr/week.

The part time shift schedule consists of 2-3 weekday shifts plus one weekend shift each week. Hours 18-32Hr/week.

Morning shifts are from 6:30AM - 1PM.

Afternoon shifts are 12:45PM - 7:15PM.

Doubles 6:30AM - 7:15PM or Crossover 9:00AM - 5:00PM on occasion during busy/holiday seasons

Good candidates will have experience working in a kennel, veterinary office or have extensive personal dog handling and training skills. Please include a cover letter explaining your dog experience and how your work experience applies to the job requirements below:

• Must be able to work one weekend day per week and be available to work on most holidays.
• Be accountable and on-time
• Have reliable form of transportation
• Be at least 17 years of age
• Capable of very active and physical work including spending most of the day on your feet, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching and reaching.
• Must be able to lift, transport, and handle 50 pounds.
• High school graduate or GED preferred but not required.

Camp Bow Wow provides a premiere experience to dogs while their owners are away. Dogs romp together in a supervised, open-play environment during the day, and if they stay the night, they have a private comfy cabin for meals and overnight stay. In addition to day care and overnight boarding, the company also offers personalized enrichment opportunities, grooming services and a rewards-based dog training program.
