POSITION SUMMARY
Eye Surgeons of Indiana is an industry-leading multispecialty ophthalmology practice. We are seeking a board-eligible or board-certified, fellowship-trained Medical Retina Specialist to join our growing practice. This physician will provide a full spectrum of comprehensive retinal subspecialty eyecare within a clinical setting.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education/Experience/Licenses/Certificates/Eligibility:
· Degree of Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in allopathic medicine or osteopathic medicine.
· Board-eligible or board-certified
· Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the state of Indiana.
· Fellowship Training: The physician must have completed fellowship training in a program deemed to have provided the applicant with appropriate professional training and exposure to the range of necessary patient care experiences.
· Applicants pending the completion of training or license requirements may be referred and tentatively selected but may not be hired until all requirements are met.

RESPONSIBILITIES
· Conduct comprehensive medical and ophthalmic evaluations of patients to determine their retinal health status
· Diagnose and treat patients with conditions that affect the retina, including diabetic retinopathy, retinal vein occlusion, macular degeneration, and retinal tears/holes
· Provides diagnostic and therapeutic services; orders appropriate diagnostic studies and procedures
· Performs non-surgical retinal procedures including, but not limited to: intravitreal injections, retinal pneumopexies and cryopexies, laser retinopexies, other retinal laser procedures, etc.
· Performs routine and complex retinal examinations on the eyes which may include comprehensive general eye examinations
· Performs A-scan and B-scan ultrasonography for diagnostic purposes of retinal disorders
· Utilizes electronic health records to accurately and completely chart patient encounters
· Keep up-to-date with new developments and research in Medical Retina and participate in continuing education and professional development activities
· Fulfills rotational on-call duties
· Lecture periodically to staff and community doctors on retinal topics
