Job Description:

Position Overview:
The Dock worker plays a key role in maintaining existing customer relationships and is responsible for entry level warehouse operations and in-warehouse activities for OCEANAIR Inc.’s Perishable customers. A passion for providing excellent customer service, a high energy level, and being able to excel working in a small team environment.
Requires a flexible schedule with occasional weekend work and start times as early as 4 am.

Major Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Receive shipment deliveries and prepare shipments for departure in the warehouse.

  • Follow directions and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

  • Receive and check inbound goods for accuracy and place in proper location.

  • Receive daily goods deliveries and stock the coolers.

  • Proper rotation of perishable items to ensure first in-first out inventory movement.

  • Ensure that all company policies are followed to meet the customs and TSA security requirements.

  • Responsible for other tasks or special projects assigned by the Department Manager.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1-year related experience preferred.

  • Must be able to lift to 50 pounds.

  • Must be able to work standing and walking for extended periods of time Willing to be a team player.

  • Energetic, accountable and team oriented.

  • Reliable, dependable, and responsible.

  • Ability to proactively find ways to maintain warehouse cleanliness and efficiency.

  • Willingness to contribute ideas, take ownership of and go beyond their responsibilities to ensure the success of the team.

  • Ability to read and understand order guides and invoices.

  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with a positive attitude High attention to detail and sense of urgency.

  • Schedule for this position may require weekends on a departmental rotation basis. This position may require working a holiday schedule based on the needs of the operation and requirements of the account.


Work Environment:
  • Work is performed in a warehouse environment where there is substantial exposure to adverse environmental conditions.

  • Sensory Essential Functions include close work, visual examination of paperwork, computer monitor and keyboard use, conversations, telephone and background noise.

  • Physical Requirements with reasonable accommodations. Moderate work requiring exerting up to 50 pounds if force occasionally in carrying, lifting, pushing or pulling. Job consists of sitting, standing, walking, squatting, and twisting.
