We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated Research Associate to join our experienced drug discovery and development team in San Diego. This candidate will report to the Senior Scientist of Preclinical R&D, and work closely with members within DMPK. The successful candidate should possess basic lab skills such as pipetting and have good master of scientific principles. Hands-on experience in developing and validating LC-MS bioanalytical methods using various sample processing techniques (SPE, LLE and PP) is a plus.
This individual should have good organizational and reporting skills and will perform routine and investigative in-vivo and in-vitro ADME/PK studies in support of drug discovery and early development of small molecules. Primary responsibilities include sample processing, running bioanalytical assays, summarizing, and reporting results in a timely fashion. The individual is also expected to develop skills for method development and troubleshoot bioanalytical LC-MS/MS methods for quantitative analysis of new chemical entities, metabolites, and biomarkers in various biological matrices. The ability to manage work independently and effectively as a team player in a team is required. The individual is expected to keep good inventory of laboratory consumables.
Requirements:• Bachelor’s degree in analytical chemistry, biochemistry, or equivalent disciplines with relevant industry experience of 0 to 2 years.
• Coachable and eager to learn new bioanalytical skills and knowledge
• Demonstrated ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, as well as in a team setting to manage multiple studies simultaneously.
• Good organizational, record keeping and communication skills.
• Enthusiasm and motivated team player with a can-do attitude and good interpersonal skills.
• Experience with preclinical ADME studies and understanding of clearance route, mechanism and the role of metabolism is a plus.
