About this role:
Consumer and Small Business Banking is actively searching for qualified candidates for the Divisional Senior Executive opportunity for the Mountain Region which includes Alaska, Arizona, Nevada, Colorado, Washington, Montana, Idaho, Wyoming and Utah.
This executive management role will provide leadership for a dynamic Retail business, with approximately $108B in deposits, 660 branches and over 5,500 employees.
The successful candidate must have proven experience leading Senior executives and teams to provide exceptional customer service to retain, grow and deepen relationships in all retail customer segments. The Divisional Senior Executive will be responsible for providing strategic business leadership and guidance with respect to profit and revenue plans within the overall region and each market. This leader will also have demonstrated the ability to balance risk with growth, successful management of a P&L with responsibility for balance sheet growth, revenue growth, productivity and efficiency. Other key responsibilities include the budgeting process and asset management for the region and providing a leadership role in representing Wells Fargo in the communities and markets served with various leaders and elected officials. The candidate will also ensure that all elements of risk management and compliance accountability are followed.
In this role, you will:
  • Provide strategic leadership and vision at the most senior levels within the Company and the Regional Banking Leadership Team to drive balanced results by implementing and executing strategies in support of Wells Fargo's overall business strategies.
  • Provide inspiring and inclusive leadership to the team in alignment with our culture and commitment to build personal connections with our employees and customers.
  • Partner across Wells Fargo and Consumer Small Business banking and influence key stakeholders to execute Branch Banking strategies and supporting activities that lead to growth in consumer, affluent, and small business banking segments.
  • Represent and deliver solid results in working with state/ local government leaders and state/ local community organizations on behalf of Wells Fargo Bank. Be viewed as a key community leader in the markets served.
  • Determine policies and strategies that maximize business achievements while minimizing operating losses and other risk exposures.
  • Attract, hire, retain, develop, motivate and coach a world-class, diverse team of Branch Banking Leaders.
  • Lead operational excellence by implementing operational controls and standards; monitoring on-going operations and adjusting priorities to meet changing conditions; establishing and maintaining proper record keeping and reporting systems; and developing and administering department budget.
  • Build a culture of high-quality deliverables, and a service organization that is known for its responsiveness and commitment to helping our customers be financially successful and meet their financial goals.
  • This executive will also work closely with business lines and support leadership across the enterprise in the execution of this strategy. Accordingly, critical success factors include the ability to manage effectively in a matrix organization, develop partnerships with many business and functional areas, provide insight into the economic climate and related market developments, and identify trends which may present opportunities or reflect gaps in the group's approach to leading customer and employee experiences.

Required Qualifications, US:
  • 13+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: banking, business banking or financial services.
  • 13+ years of management experience.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Extensive knowledge of Financial Services business lines, products and services.
  • Strong strategic thinker and change leader with proven success delivering high performing service and customer growth results, P&L Management with Retail, Business Banking and Wealth Management expertise.
  • Strong risk management and compliance knowledge.
  • Ability to put the customer at the center of all decisions and actions.
  • Demonstrated application of risk principles to products and procedures for significant and geography dispersed businesses.
  • Must have strong relationship management and proven leadership skills, with solid conflict management, negotiation and organizational effectiveness techniques with senior business leaders to foster and manage ongoing relationships and gain commitment to accomplish business goals.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage effectively in a heavily matrixed organization with a high degree of initiative and strong ability to meet key responsibilities with limited direction and oversight.
  • Demonstrated leadership at a high level to deliver results with state/local government leaders and state/local community organizations and businesses on behalf of Wells Fargo Bank and our communities.
  • Proven success recruiting, inspiring, developing, coaching and motivating employees through balanced leadership with a focus on employee engagement and retention and performance management.
  • Ability to communicate powerfully and prolifically to senior and executive leaders and simplify the complex.
  • Ability to influence without direct authority, create and manage (while achieving results) large-scale change and influence people at all levels of the organization.
