Organizational Relationships: Reports directly to the Superintendent
The MTSS Coordinator's role is to provide administrative-level leadership, assistance, and professional learning for the Bellevue administrators, leadership teams, school continuous improvement team, teachers, and staff personnel to support the design, implementation, and sustainability of the District goals and best practices embedded within our Multi-Tiered Systems of Support.
The School Improvement Coordinator's role is responsible for planning, implementing, and monitoring initiatives aimed at improving educational programs, student outcomes, and overall school performance. This role involves working closely with school administrators, teachers, and other stakeholders to identify areas for improvement and develop strategies to achieve educational goals.
Employment Qualifications:
  • This position requires a minimum of three to five years of successful teaching experience, knowledge of educational systems and demonstrated consultation, training, group facilitation and coaching skills. (Administrative experience preferred)
    Valid Michigan Teaching Certification with experience (Administrative experience preferred)

  • Experience in successful use of MTSS at the district level
  • ?Experience in the continuous improvement process on the building and district level, specifically using the MICIP process

Major Responsibilities:
  • Developing fluency in district structures, processes / procedures necessary to support the staff in their use and sustainability of effective innovations
  • Conduct thorough assessments of the school's academic performance, analyzing data on student achievement, standardized test scores, and other relevant metrics.
  • Collaborate with school staff to identify specific areas of improvement based on assessment results.
  • Organization and successful facilitation of the District Implementation Team meetings
  • Regular communication with the administration before and after DIT meetings
  • Monitors and updates the District Implementation Plan
  • Monitors and prompts the use of district processes and procedures
  • Monitors and prompts review of school level implementation and provides supports for success.
  • Develop and lead professional learning for administrators, school leaders, teachers, and supporting staff to develop, implement, and maintain building-wide and district-wide MTSS with regards to Positive Behavior Intervention Support (PBIS), trauma-informed practices, social and emotional learning, restorative practices, CPI, and positive, safe learning cultures and climates, as well as close coordination with tiered academic supports.
  • Provide on-going coaching and consultative services in developing system-wide change and implementation of best practices to support the Whole Child.
  • Provide direction to school and district personnel, using the continuous improvement process, in regards to behavior management and appropriate responses, relevant assessments, MICIP, data collection, data analysis, and monitoring culture/climate systems.
  • Facilitate regular analysis of district data to identify successes, precise problem statements, contributing factors, and a plan to address needs
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations related to School Improvement
  • Prepare and submit reports to the administration and Board of Education
  • Assist in allocating resources effectively to support improvement initiatives, including budget planning and grant applications
  • Coordinate professional development opportunities for teachers and staff to enhance their skills and instructional practices.
  • Develops and ensures positive relationships with the administrators, District Implementation Team members, and other staff whose work supports the district's use of effective innovations
  • In cooperation with the principals develop a productive school climate and culture
