Job Summary
Taking strategic direction from the general manager, directs all store operations to achieve sales and profit growth, high level customer satisfaction and optimal store conditions. Works with merchandising, human resources, marketing, facilities management, real estate, IT, finance, in a collaborative fashion to achieve store level and company initiatives. The District Manager makes quick decisions and uses sound judgment in dealing with store needs and coaches, develops and mentors store teams.
Responsibilities
- Directs all retail operations to achieve increased store sales growth and net profit
- Works will store teams to achieve budgets, forecast effectively, and develop plans to achieve weekly, quarterly and annual sales, profit and growth goals. Visits stores regularly (virtually if needed) to support the growth of profitable sales and serve as a liaison between the store and the main office
- Analysis each store’s key performance indicators, financial and operating statements and advises and coaches store management on strengths and opportunities
- Serves as a role model, coach and cheerleader for service culture, ensuring the highest level of consistent execution on all service programs
- Provides necessary analysis, planning and guidance to ensure that goals, objectives and priorities are established and met within time limits
- Performs market analysis of competitor merchandising, pricing and programs and provides insight to main office team
- Monitors potential sales, inventory, labor, expense and quality opportunities and provides corrective coaching, feedback and direction
- Ensures all stores are following company policies and complying with city, state and federal regulations
- Works with stores to ensure effective and consistent execution of merchandising programs.
- Assists with store resets and refreshes
- Collaborates with and visits stores with the merchant team to share ideas, gather input and achieve consistent execution and performance
- Supervises, coaches and provides feedback to direct reports and completes performance reviews
- Manages, motivates, evaluates, mentors, trains, and develops store teams.
- Participates in special projects as assigned (e.g., shrink reduction, reinvention, inventory reduction)
- Performs duties as assigned to fulfil company objectives
- Works with hotel management and/or landlords to address store-level concerns
- May need to cover store shifts
- Other duties as assigned
Skills
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
- Computer literacy, Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite Program, Word, Outlook, Excel etc.
- Excellent teamwork, interpersonal, multitasking, and problem-solving skills
- Requires high organization and great attention to detail
- Performs with a “sense of urgency” and possesses a positive attitude

Education & Experience
- 3+ years experience in store management and operation
- Multi-unit management experience
- Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook and retail reporting
Physical Requirements
- Use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear
- Frequent standing and walk for long periods of time, approximately 70% of shift
- Ability to bend over and kneel frequently
- Must frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds; occasionally carry up to 25 pounds
- Required to work overtime, holidays or weekends depending on work needs
- Have a valid driver’s license, maintain a driving record that meets company’s insurance eligibility requirements for excess liability
- Interisland and possible mainland travel required
