CHA Consulting, Inc. is currently seeking a Distribution Planner Ito join our Power and Manufacturing - Utilities Infrastructure/Electric Distribution Team at our office in Syracuse, NY.
CHA’s distribution design engineers have the deep experience and skillset to plan, design, and permit sustainable electric distribution infrastructure and all types of utility distribution systems. To realize the dependable, cost-effective interconnection of overhead and underground assets, we visualize, analyze and optimize how the system functions with itself and outside systems, and improve energy delivery and grid resilience.
CHA’s Distribution Planners have the deep experience and skill set to plan, design, and permit electric distribution infrastructure and all types of utility distribution systems. To realize the dependable, cost-effective interconnection of overhead and underground assets, we visualize, analyze and optimize how the system functions with itself and outside systems.
The Distribution Planner I is responsible for learning the client's GIS design systems and construction standards, data entry and analysis of electric distribution networks with our client(s) as well as understanding system issues and the appropriate following steps under the direction and supervision of the Distribution Planner and/or Sr. Distribution Planner.

- High School diploma required, Associate’s degree in a related field preferred
- Valid driver's license required
- No experience is required; however, prior internship(s) and/or applicable coursework preferred
- Experience with power distribution is preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required
- Proficiency in ArcGIS is preferred
- Must have ability to learn Work Management systems, AutoCAD, and SAP
- Ability to work in fast-paced and team/group environments
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organization skills
- Ability to work/stand for long periods of time in various weather conditions
- Ability to travel (50% of the time within the region)
