JOB DESCRIPTION

2:30pm-11pm

The Distribution Center Operations Supervisorplays a vital role in maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient corporate office and warehouse environment. Your goal is to ensure productivity targets are achieved and that all order shipping processes are running smoothly and promptly. This position will supervise the daily activities of the PM shipping department and those persons employed in the department or assisting to the shipping department. The supervisor will implement procedures to improve quality, productivity and safety and ensure product is shipped in a timely manner according to customer SLA’s.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Additional duties may be assigned. Management retains the discretion to change or add to the duties of this position.

  • Oversee daily shipping department activities, focusing on continuous improvement/lean activities to increase output while improving accuracy.
  • Optimize picking and packing processes by strategically planning movement throughout the DC.
  • Assist in resolving any order issues, identifying root causes, and take corrective action to meet customer service level agreements (SLAs)
  • Produce weekly and monthly reports on department KPIs, monitor exception reporting daily.
  • Identify staffing needs and schedule team members while remaining within budgetary guidelines.
  • Motivate and engage team members through "lead by example" principles, training, and mentoring.
  • Engage employees in performance review process.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and recommend revisions to procedures for shipping, document all processes.
  • Maintain accurate recording and reporting of transactions to follow internal and external audits.
  • Regularly inspect and care for the physical condition of the warehouse's interior, exterior and equipment
  • Communicate across all departments and management levels in a professional manner and encourage and participate in collaboration and cooperation.
  • Upholds safety standards across all areas of responsibility.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Skills & Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • 2+ years direct supervisor experience including in a distribution environment.
  • Strong background in performance metrics, process improvement, and problem solving.
  • Experience with full staffing lifecycle including interviewing, hiring, performance management, promotions, and terminations.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office and previous experience with warehouse management systems.
  • Ability to organize, plan and prioritize work to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal form, including documentation, presentations, reports, and other essential business communication.
  • A history of driving a safety culture that includes regular coaching, trainings, and observations.
