EMR recycles ten million tons of material annually, everything from beverage cans to aircraft carriers. We work with a wide variety of metals including copper, aluminum, brass, and stainless steel, and can recycle it into more than 200 different types of new sustainable raw materials.


We are looking for a dynamic individual to join ourMy Auto Storedivision as our Distribution Center Manager for our new, state-of-the-art Distribution Center in Deptford, New Jersey. My Auto Store is one of the largest auto recyclers and used auto part stores on the East Coast with more than 200,000 OEM used car & truck parts in stock daily.

Responsibilities

  • Operational Oversight:Manage and oversee day-to-day warehouse operations, ensuring the efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods. Implement and optimize operational processes to maximize productivity, minimize errors, and meet performance targets.
  • Inventory Management:Take responsibility for inventory accuracy and control. Regularly conduct stock checks, coordinate cycle counts, and implement measures to prevent stock discrepancies. Collaborate with procurement and sales teams to maintain optimal stock levels.
  • Team Leadership:Lead and motivate warehouse staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment. Provide clear direction, delegate tasks effectively, and conduct regular performance assessments. Facilitate training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of the warehouse team.
  • Safety Compliance:Enforce and promote strict adherence to safety protocols and regulations within the warehouse. Conduct regular safety meetings, identify potential hazards, and implement corrective actions to maintain a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Quality Assurance:Implement and monitor quality control procedures to ensure that products meet established standards. Collaborate with quality assurance teams to address and resolve any product-related issues promptly.
  • Customer Service:Work closely with the customer service and logistics teams to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment. Address customer inquiries and concerns, striving to enhance overall customer satisfaction through efficient warehouse operations.
  • Cost Control:Monitor and control warehouse expenses within the established budget. Implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising the efficiency and effectiveness of warehouse operations.
  • Continuous Improvement:Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement changes to enhance overall warehouse efficiency. Stay informed about industry best practices and technology advancements to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Vendor Relations:Manage relationships with warehouse service providers, suppliers, and vendors. Negotiate contracts and service agreements to secure favorable terms and conditions for the warehouse.
  • Documentation and Reporting:Maintain accurate records of inventory, shipments, and other relevant warehouse activities. Generate regular reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide insights to senior management for strategic decision-making.

Job requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, logistics, supply chain management, or a related field. Relevant certifications in logistics or warehouse management are a plus
  • Proven experience in warehouse management or a similar role, with a track record of successful leadership and operational oversight. A minimum of 5 years in a managerial capacity within a warehouse or Distribution Center setting
  • In-depth knowledge of warehouse and inventory management practices, as well as an understanding of supply chain processes. Familiarity with industry-specific software and technology for warehouse management
  • Strong leadership abilities with a demonstrated capacity to lead, motivate, and develop a team. Experience in effectively managing and resolving conflicts within the workforce
  • Must be authorized to work in the US.
