Job Description
Local Distribution Center is hiring for a full-time position pertaining to receiving and maintaining inventory. This position offers 40 hour work weeks, Monday through Friday, 7:30am to 4:30pm. Starting wage $16.00 an hour. All applicants must be flexible to accommodate seasonal overtime, which includes occasional Saturday hours. Applicants must successfully complete all pre-hire screenings including background check and drug test.
An Inbound Operations Associate shares responsibility for all incoming product into the Distribution Center, ensuring that all receiving functions and documentation are completed accurately and in a timely manner, and will participate in various functions and procedures to help insure accuracy and proper storage of inventory. This includes verifying that product and quantities match packing lists and purchase orders, unloading trucks using a forklift/electric pallet jack, and accurately dispatching product to be properly stocked to the shelves. The inventory aspect of the position includes tasks such as stocking shelves, performing cycle counts to check for accuracy, making needed adjustments to stock count, and participating in seasonal projects as needed to help make space or relocate product.
Additionally, in an effort to provide the highest level of customer service, all warehouse associates are cross trained to be proficient in the areas of order fulfillment, quality control/shipping, and other basic warehouse functions.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Must be able to count accurately and perform simple math.
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
- Must be detail oriented.
- Must be able to operate a forklift and electric pallet jack (training provided).
- Must be able to lift 35 lbs on a frequent basis.
- Must be able to operate a Windows based PC and RF scanner gun.
- Must be capable of twisting, stooping, squatting and reaching above shoulder level on a frequent basis.
- Must be able to follow directions; emphasis on safety is being very important.
- Must be able to handle stress that is involved in meeting deadlines due to tight scheduling.
- Must be able to establish and shift priorities easily.
- Must be able to accomplish multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
- Must be positive and friendly with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
