Distribution Center General Manager

WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR:
The DC General Manager will own the profitability and culture of the site and is accountable to drive expected results for the overall location. S/he is not only responsible for the distribution operations of the site, but also responsible for making sure the site functions at an optimal level from a Staffing/Facilities/IT/Customer Service perspective.

• Planning and directing the overall operations of the Distribution Center, including receiving, storing, and shipping products.
• Developing and implementing strategies to improve efficiency and productivity in the Distribution Center.
• Ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements, including safety and environmental regulations.
• Strategically managing adequate capacity for all aspects of the operation including labor, equipment and space.
• Developing and managing budgets and financial plans for the Distribution Center.
• Managing and directing a team of employees, including hiring, training, and performance management.
• Monitoring and analyzing key performance indicators to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
• Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned. [5%]

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Proven ability to work effectively as a manager and a leader who can motivate a work group!
• Creative problem solving skills.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Active listening and ability to provide feedback to all stakeholders including managing up with clear communication.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience in and/or ability to learn ERP and WMS platforms High Jump and SAP.
• 5-10 years of operational leadership in a distribution or manufacturing environment.
• Bachelors degree is preferred, but not required Knowledge of Quality Control requirements and processes within a Distribution Center
• Background in continuous improvement &/or LEAN
• Strong mathematical and analytical aptitude

OTHER RELATED CRITERIA

• Domestic and International Travel
  
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally 3 or more times a year which includes flying by plane and driving a motor vehicle. Must possess a valid US Passport and driver's license and fulfill the requirements of being a QBP Approved Driver.
• Physical Requirements
  
  • Ability to perform work on a phone and computer extensively.
  • Ability to lift up to 55lbs occasionally
  • Ability to lift 20lbs. overhead occasionally
  • Ability to team-lift 70lbs occasionally
  • Occasional seizing, holding, grasping, turning, or otherwise working with the hand(s). It is often present when lifting involves the hands. Note: Fingers are involved only to the extent that they are an extension of the hand to hold or operate a tool such as tin snips or scissors.
  • Constant touching, picking, pinching, or otherwise working primarily with fingers rather than the whole hand or arm as in gross manipulation.
