Position Overview: The Distribution Analyst for Logistics is responsible for developing and enabling the processes, practice, and culture of our Logistics data-centric organization. You will help build trust in a vision where business value and decisions are driven through the thoughtful and innovative use of data.
The primary responsibility of the Distribution Analyst - Logistics is to contribute to building an inspiring, innovative, and exciting DigiKey. You'll do this by leveraging your passion around data analytics, consulting and educating to enable your business partners to be more efficient and effective. This role collaborates with various business units internally and externally, identifying process improvements to maximize inbound and outbound delivery efficiencies to reduce costs and aligning to optimal auditing processes for DigiKey's logistics transportation spend.
Hours: Monday-Friday 8:00AM- 4:30PM
Responsibilities:
  • Develop analytic tools to review transportation spend and procedures; identify , recommend, and implement improvements to maximize delivery efficiency while minimizing costs.
  • Be the trusted partner and consultant with the business on the use of data analytics by advocating the collection, analysis, and translation of data into actionable insights. Engage analytic methods and tools to understand, report, and/or control logistics transportation spend.
  • Support the alignment and use of Logistics data for consistent reporting throughout the company.
  • Work closely with senior analysts to elicit, understand, and solve logistics-transportation business problems and assist with Communities of Practice and Knowledge Management.
  • Acts as a technical mentor to associate analysts and business users. Support team members to understand data assets and analytic tools; help team members determine the most effective solutions to analytics problems and maintain a data analytics online library to facilitate data exploration and analysis.
  • Perform record/data audit functions to ensure compliance.
  • Data review and tracking of Logistics Financial performance. Utilize financial and logistical databases/systems to assist in reporting and ad hoc analysis to support improvements and better solutions; deliver process improvements related to logistics inefficiencies.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
  • Associates degree in statistics, computer science, finance, analysis, data science, or related discipline or 4 years of work experience in data analysis required .
  • 5+ years of experience partnering with or working in the following business functions: Operations, Finance, Logistics, etc. preferred.
  • Experience facilitating and presenting educational and/or learning content , ideally around analytics, research, information technology or applied research preferred.
  • Knowledge of data, data literacy, reporting and analysis . Prior experience in using data in a business setting to drive decisions.
  • A bility to discover and present a business story using tools such as Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel, in a way that establishes rapport, persuades others, and promotes understanding and consensus building.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills , analytical, and problem-solving skills and a strong customer focus required .
  • Must be self-motivated and disciplined, with capacity to be highly productive working under pressure and within time constraints , and have the a bility to work productively in both team and independent settings .
  • Strong communications skills, both orally and in writing, with a variety of groups including technical and non-technical audiences required.
  • DigiKey experience or e xperience with in the electronic component distribution industry preferred.

Tools, Systems and Software
  • Proficiency with variety of data tools (e.g., SQL, MicroStrategy, Smartsheet, etc.)

Physical Requirements:
  • Generally, spend the workday sitting at a workstation and operating computer devices, such as, but not limited to keyboard, mouse, and screen.
  • Generally, spend the workday performing repetitive motions that involve or affect the hands, head, and other parts of your body.
