The Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating the logistics of branch operations and communicating all work assignments and equipment in the division of cranes and trucking.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Maintain and keep records, logs, and schedules of calls made or received, the equipment and personnel they monitor and coordinate, and the actions they take;
- Ensures personnel maintain compliance with OSHA, safety regulations, company policies and procedural guidelines are followed;
- Process and transmits information, instructions, and permits;
- Prepares daily dispatch reports and schedules and forwards as appropriately;
- Ensures compliance with DOT regulations and union contracts;
- Dispatch drivers and respond to their calls;
- Coordinates scheduling of transport/crane request with the Branch Manager;
- Schedules assignments and coordinates activities for the trucks, trailers, cranes, operators, and personnel;
- Acts as a liaison between customers, operators, and operations.
- Maintains awareness of changing weather conditions affecting personnel and suspends activities if necessary;
- Creates appropriate maps and direction charts to follow all permit laws;
- Conducts all business in a professional, respectful manner.
- Assist in other activities and other duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Must be proficient with basic computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.), phone, and other office equipment;
- Experienced in trucking and dispatch functions is preferred.
- Experience with cranes or other heavy construction equipment is preferred.
- Knowledge of the permitting process for oversize loads and documentation is preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills
- Must be able to read, write, and communicate using the English Language
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- A minimum of 1-3 years of industry experience including transportation, heavy equipment, and crane and hoisting preferred.
Licenses and Certifications:
- Valid Florida Driver’s License.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Physical Requirements:

- Work is performed in a standard office environment with prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Subject to standing, walking, bending, reaching, stooping, and lifting objects up to 25 pounds at times.
