We are looking for a Driver Dispatch Supervisor to join our cabinet manufacturing client's team in Knightdale, NC. Responsibilities:
- Make sure orders are picked/assembled and complete so drivers can load their trucks.
- Dispatch Coordination: Coordinate the dispatch of drivers to various locations based on delivery schedules and customer requirements.
- Route Optimization: Utilize route optimization software and tools to plan and optimize delivery routes, taking into account factors such as traffic conditions, delivery deadlines, and fuel efficiency.
- Schedule Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date driver schedules, ensuring that all deliveries are completed on time and according to customer specifications.
- Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for drivers, providing them with clear instructions, updates, and support throughout their shifts.
- Problem Solving: Address any issues or challenges that may arise during the delivery process, such as delays, vehicle breakdowns, or customer concerns, and implement effective solutions to ensure minimal disruption to operations.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed records of delivery activities, including driver logs, delivery confirmations, and any incidents or accidents that occur during transit.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure that all drivers adhere to company safety policies and procedures, including proper vehicle maintenance, load securement, and compliance with traffic laws and regulations.
- Driver: Back up Driver as needed.
Working hours: 6:30 AM - 4:00 PM
Skills:
- Previous experience in dispatching, logistics, or transportation management preferred.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with drivers, customers, and other team members.
- Proficiency in route optimization software and GPS navigation systems.
- Knowledge of transportation regulations and safety standards.
- Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure and effectively resolve conflicts or issues as they arise.
