General Description
The Dishwasher will assist the Cook, Food Service Manager and Food Service Director. Works most closely with the following internal staff to effectively meet our resident’s needs: Charge Nurses, NACs, Lead Housekeeper, and other Dietary staff. The main external customer contact will include: Residents and their families and friends, Volunteers, and Food Vendors.
Salary is from $16.19/hr. and up to $18.45/hr. based on relatable experience as determined by the hiring manager and HR.
Schedule: Monday-Thursday - 10 hour shifts
Some fun things you’ll do:
- Assist in maintaining kitchen work areas and keeping equipment, utensils, and food plates clean and orderly.
- Sweep and mop floors of kitchen and may be required to sweep and mop dining area.
- May be required to wash food preparation worktables, walls, refrigerators, and refrigerated walk-ins.
- Required to remove garbage from kitchen area and hose out garbage containers
- May be required to answer the phone.
- May be required to assist in food delivery.
- Must be able to operate industrial size dishwasher and able to move quickly in completing tasks at hand.
- May also assist residents to eat in dining rooms as regulations allow.
- Employee must be able to be on feet all day
- Update and maintain tray card information.
- Print and distribute menus.
- Print and organize tray cards.
- Visit residents to gather info on food preferences and assist residents with menu selections as needed.
- Communicate to the Registered Dietitian (RD), as indicated, regarding any changes in residents’ nutritional status, diet tolerance, intake, etc.
- Screen new admissions, document MDS/low-risk residents’ quarterly reviews; review/update care plans as indicated, initiate nutritional interventions, and monitor tolerances, etc., per protocol guidelines and under the supervision of the RD.
- Update resident profile cards/tray cards/menus according to current diet order and changes in food preferences.
- Provide training as needed in service and policy.
- Create and monitor Signage, collateral, and marketing for communication in building.
- Comply with and ensure departmental compliance to state and federal guidelines.
- Assist RD in evaluation of Dining and Nutrition Service policies, procedures, cleaning and sanitation needs and maintenance of essential records required by regulatory guidelines.
