Summary
Supervise STD/HIV Disease Intervention staff. Monitor program activities and compilation of data for assessment and reports. Manage and direct daily staff assignments, plan community activities to reduce disease incidence and review case write-ups. Train and monitor staff to ensure competent team of Disease Intervention Specialists and Community Service aids to perform program activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Trains, monitors, and evaluates program staff.
  2. Oversees case analysis and documentation.
  3. Oversees daily clinic and field activities and coverage.
  4. Oversees testing and counseling and street outreach activities.
  5. Oversees STD/HIV educational activities and health fairs.
  6. Ensures compliance with County policies and procedures including time and attendance.
  7. Oversees community collaboration and informational workshops for CBO's.
  8. Performs all other related duties involved in the operation of the Public Health Department as assigned or required.

Minimum Requirements
NOTE: YOU MUST FILL OUT THE WORK HISTORY and EDUCATION SECTIONS OF APPLICATION TO SHOW YOU HAVE YEARS OF EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION AS REQUIRED BY HIRING DEPARTMENT OR BE DISQUALIFIED.
TO APPLY, must have a Bachelor's degree + Three (3) full-time years of work experience as a Disease Intervention Specialist or STD/HIV Caseworker
OR
TO APPLY, must possess a Master's degree or higher + One (1) full-time year of work experience as a Disease Intervention Specialist or STD/HIV Caseworker.
TO APPLY, must possess a valid Driver License. Note: Must possess Texas driver license to hold the position.
Completion of Sexually Transmitted Disease Intervention and Interviewing course (ISTDI).
Public Health Nursing, Sociology, Humanities, Psychology, Science, or related degrees preferred.
HIV counseling and certification and general STD/HIV training classes.
If hired, must provide proof of educational attainment
at New Hire Processing or during the promotional process.
Tarrant County will conduct background checks on new hires that will include a criminal background check related to convictions and deferred adjudications in the past seven years and may include credit reports, motor vehicle records, employment records and educational attainment. A conviction or deferred adjudication is not an automatic bar to employment. Each case is considered individually.

While performing the duties of this position, the incumbent is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, lift, push and pull.
