New full-time employee position for a Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity Director.
Seeking a highly skilled and experienced Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity Director to lead the development and implementation of our organization's disaster recovery and business continuity plans. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the continued operating in the event of a disaster or disruption, while minimizing the impact on employees, customers, and stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain our organization's disaster recovery and business continuity plans, policies, and procedures.
• Conduct risk assessments to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities to our organization's critical business operations, systems, and data.
• Develop strategies to minimize the impact of disasters or disruptions on our organization, and ensure that recovery plans are aligned with industry standards and best practices.
• Coordinate and lead disaster recovery and business continuity exercises and tests, and evaluate the effectiveness of our plans.
• Collaborate with IT, security, and other departments to ensure that our disaster recovery and business continuity plans are integrated and aligned with our overall strategy and objectives.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in disaster recovery and business continuity, and apply this knowledge to continuously improve our plans and processes.
• Educate and train employees on disaster recovery and business continuity best practices, and raise awareness of the importance of these plans to our organization's success.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration, IT, Emergency Management, or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in disaster recovery, business continuity, or related field.
• Strong knowledge of disaster recovery and business continuity best practices, standards, and regulations (e.g. ISO 22301, NIST SP 800-53, FEMA guidelines).
• Experience in developing and implementing disaster recovery and business continuity plans for complex organizations.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Knowledge of data replication strategies, virtual platforms and AWS.
• Certifications such as Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) or Certified Disaster Recovery Engineer (CDRE) are a plus.
