Summary of Job Duties:
The UAFS Early Childhood Summer CDA Academy Director/Instructor will assist in the planning and supervision of a residential setting for the Summer CDA Academy program students. This position will include active participation in all aspects of the program, including evening activities, academic assistance, and participant supervision. The position reports to the Director of the Early Childhood Education program.
Qualifications:

Required Education and/or Work Experience: Bachelors or Masters degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience teaching high school students or adult learners

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Plan and schedule all activities for the summer program
  • Facilitate staff orientation for ECE CDA Academy RAs
  • Supervise Ras and assist in the planning/supervision of a residential setting for ECE CDA Academy students
  • Maintain ECE CDA Academy student records
  • Plan/prepare and instruct ECE CDA Academy summer courses
  • Place students in quality childcare centers for observation hours
  • Participate in all aspects of the ECE CDA Academy program, including evening activities, meetings, and the awards ceremony
  • Enforce ECE CDA Academy policies and procedures and report any infractions or student issues and concerns immediately to the UAFS Early Childhood Director.
  • Assist final year students in obtaining observation locations to complete hours toward CDA
  • Guide students in completing the CDA process


Responsible for maintaining a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner to foster teamwork and by providing leadership to subordinates. Requires consistent on-time attendance.

  • Performs other similar or related duties as requested or assigned.
  • Maintains strong working relationship with staff.
  • Contributes to the overall success of the department by performing all other duties as requested or assigned.

Additional Information:

Working Relationships: The Director/Instructor of the ECE CDA Academy will work closely with the Director of the Early Childhood Education Program.

Special Job Dimensions: This position may require occasional bending and lifting.

Background Check Requirements. Criminal background check; Arkansas Mandated Reporters training; and MVR (motor vehicle registry) required for this position.

Salary Information:

$20,250.00/May 1 - August 31
